Cirencester, known the Capital of the Cotswolds, is a lovely market town with a fascinating history and quaint independent shops hiding down Black Jack Street, The Woolmarket and Cricklade Street. The Corinium Museum is a treasure trove of Roman artefacts and the Roman Amphitheatre is just a short walk from the town centre. In the Market place is St John the Baptist Church, behind it is the Abbey Grounds Park. Nothing remains of the Abbey, however the remains of a Roman wall, a Norman Gate House and some interesting sculptures can be found in the park along with a large lake complete with ducks.

Did you know...The town is the home to the world's largest yew hedge at 40 feet tall and 150 feet wide, planted to screen Cirencester Park.
